Job summary

T2 Utility Engineers is hiring a Survey Field Technician II in the Atlanta area (Norcross, GA). The role involves operating survey equipment, collecting data, and supporting field surveys across sites. Expect travel and hands-on training in GPS, LiDAR, and traditional surveying methods.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience as a Survey Field Tech I.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in operating total stations, data collection devices, GPS equipment and levels.
• Perform basic survey calculations (level notes, angles, coordinates).
• Interpret site, boundary, highway and utility plans and surveys.
• Maintain and clean survey equipment (GPS, total stations, levels).
• Learn operation of terrestrial LiDAR scanning equipment.
• Load/unload survey equipment and supplies daily.
• Set up tripods for backsite/foresight operations.
• Support safety setup and flagging under Crew Chief guidance.
• Assist with vehicle pre-checks and truck sheets.
• Assist with monthly survey equipment inventory.
• Support Subsurface Utility Engineering services as required.
