Job summary

Prisma Health in Simpsonville, SC is seeking an entry-level Surgical Technologist to assist in patient care before, during and after surgical procedures. You will scrub, prepare the OR, and support the team under RN supervision.

No prior experience required; annual 15 hours ST education applies. Location Hillcrest/Simpsonville Medical Campus, 1003 Hillcrest Hospital, Gastrointestinal Diagnostic Lab.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologist training in the U.S. Armed Forces.
• Experience: No previous experience required.
• Maintains 15 hours of mandatory ST education annually.

Responsibilities

• Assist in care of patients of all ages before, during and after procedures as part of the surgical team.
• Prepare for procedures by collecting supplies and setting up the OR.
• Assist during operative procedures and maintain instrument counts.
• Maintain aseptic technique and monitor for breaches; take corrective action.
• Train and mentor coworkers; support integration of new team members.
