Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Control Wireman I to assist in installation, inspection, and maintenance of control wiring systems in substations. You will learn cable installation, terminations, and print reading under supervision, while prioritizing safety and quality.

The role offers on-site work with opportunities for safety training, skill development, and career growth in electrical testing and engineering. A strong emphasis on teamwork and adherence to procedures is required.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen for safety-sensitive role.
• Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
• Able to work overtime and travel out of town.
• Able to climb ladders, stand for extended periods, lift 70 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver''s license and maintain a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety policies and PPE requirements in substation environments.
• Participate in safety trainings, meetings, and daily briefings.
• Promote safety by following procedures and reporting hazards.
• Assist with receiving, staging, and verifying materials against lists.
• Support cable pulling, staging materials, and routing cables under supervision.
• Apply cable labels under direction and learn termination practices.
• Perform basic cable prep and terminate under supervision.
• Support megger testing preparation under guidance.
• Follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and verbal instructions.
• Work with senior technicians to learn techniques and procedures.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and organized work areas.
• Keep walkways and workspaces clear of hazards daily.
