Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Drafter for our Meridian, ID office to learn CAD standards, client requirements, and contribute to the Power & Energy Substation Team on challenging design projects.

You will apply 3D CAD skills to develop physical and electrical drawings, collaborate with engineers, ensure adherence to codes, and grow professionally while handling multiple drafting tasks in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school; associate/technical drafting degree preferred.
• Knowledge of drafting and design support principles and techniques.
• Familiar with relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication in English.
• Proven ability to learn client standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data to support drafting and design activities.
• Drafting and design opportunities on substation projects including physical/civil layouts and schematics.
• Use 3D CAD software to prepare precise drawings.
• Provide technical design assistance with proper fit, form, and function using GD&T and tolerance calculations.
