Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. in Hillsboro, IL is seeking an entry-level Substance Abuse Education and Case Management position within GEO Reentry Services. You will help residents achieve their established plan goals by coordinating services, learning to document treatment materials, and supporting the clinical team.

You will develop skills in ASI assessments, life skills training, and counseling, while contributing to program planning and resident care in a correctional environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling within two years of employment.
• Experience providing human services functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides case management of residents to coordinate services and resources.
• Learns to prepare and submit treatment and educational outlines and materials.
• Maintains records and daily clinical charting as required.
• Learns to implement substance abuse and life skills assessments and integrate results into treatment plans.
• Participates in training and supervision activities.
• Assists in preparing schedules, reports, and information for management or client.
• Learns to assess aftercare needs and services in re-entry process.
• Learns to provide counseling to residents and families as requested.
• Coordinates clinical care of assigned resident caseload.
• Participates in treatment planning and conferences.
• Observes and supervises resident interactions and documents in charts.
• Performs ASI assessments and other required assessment instruments.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in a social or human services field preferred
