GEO Reentry Services LLC, Illinois, seeks a counselor to provide substance abuse information for class curriculum, facilitate didactic educational presentations, and conduct group and individual counseling sessions. You will select instructional materials, stay current on developments in the field, and build professional ties with other substance abuse professionals and programs.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, a Bachelor’s degree in social/human services

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a social or human services field preferred.
• Certification in Alcohol and Drug Counseling within two years of employment.
• Experience providing human service functions preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide relevant Substance Abuse information for class curriculum.
• Facilitate didactic educational presentations, group counseling, and individual counseling sessions.
• Select and recommend new instructional materials and programs for use in the substance abuse program.
• Maintain knowledge of new developments in the field of substance abuse.
• Maintain a collegian relationship with other substance abuse professionals, programs, and associations.
• Complete required testing, assessment, and psychosocial history on incoming residents as required.
• Participate in related training for substance abuse.
