Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering seeks an Engineer I – Shell & Plate to perform design and analysis for liquid storage structures, tanks and foundations, supporting field and fabrication offices.

You will work on LNG storage tanks and related equipment, with travel to North America for site assignments, emphasizing safety and teamwork. This entry-level role requires a BS/MS in Civil (Structural) or Mechanical Engineering and familiarity with structural analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil (Structural) or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Entry-level Engineer, no experience required; internship preferred.
• Familiarity with strength of materials, mechanics and structural analysis is required; FEA preferred.
• Familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, STAAD and ANSYS is preferred.
• Strong computer skills: PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Outlook and Teams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering design and calculations for structures in liquid storage terminals.
• Performs analyses including structural, vibration, seismic and thermal loading.
• Prepares portions of project documents and develops design sketches.
• Evaluates and applies standard techniques for conventional projects.
• Communicates engineering data to aid field staff and craftsmen.
• Documents and assists in resolving technical issues at the jobsite.
• Works on special projects as assigned by supervisor.
