Job summary

Matrix PDM Engineering is seeking an Engineer I - Shell & Plate to design and analyze liquid storage structures, vessels, and foundations, including tanks and LNG terminals, using sound engineering principles. The role works with a collaborative team and may require time on job sites across North America, with offices in Tulsa, OK or Pennsylvania.

Entry-level opportunity; internship preferred; basic strength of materials and structural analysis knowledge; familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, STAAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Civil (Structural) or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Entry-level engineer, no experience required; internship preferred.
• Basic knowledge of strength of materials, mechanics and structural analysis is required.
• FEA experience preferred; familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, STAAD, ANSYS desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs engineering design and calculations for structures in liquid storage terminals.
• Performs structural, vibration, seismic and thermal analyses.
• Prepares portions of project documents and sketches; edits specifications.
• Communicates data to field staff and aids fabrication teams.
• Travels to construction sites across North America as needed.
