Job summary

Matrix Service Company is seeking an Engineer I – Shell & Plate to perform design and analysis for liquid storage structures, vessels and foundations. You will support field and fabrication offices, working on projects across North America from Tulsa or PA offices.

The role requires basic engineering knowledge, internship experience, and strong communication skills. Travel to project sites may be required; relocation to our offices is possible for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor- or Master-level degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Entry-level engineer, no experience required; internship preferred.
• Basic knowledge of strength of materials, mechanics and structural analysis.
• FEA experience and familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, STAAD and ANSYS are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports safety initiatives and corporate code of conduct.
• Performs design and calculations for liquid storage structures and vessels.
• Conducts structural, seismic and thermal analysis.
• Prepares project documents and design sketches.
• Communicates engineering data to field staff and home office.
