Job summary

Apex Structural Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer I in the Nashville area. This entry-level role focuses on developing fundamental technical skills under experienced engineers. You will support projects through structural calculations, analysis, design, documentation, and construction administration.

You will learn Apex design processes, standards, software, and project delivery approaches while building practical engineering judgment and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering from an accredited university.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level structural engineering calculations and design for components (slabs, beams, columns, etc.).
• Determine loads using ASCE 7 and project criteria.
• Develop basic structural analysis models for members and simple systems.
• Prepare calculations and supporting documentation for assigned tasks.
• Assist with drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals under guidance of an experienced engineer.
