Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
  • EIT certification is preferred.
  • Internship or professional experience in structural engineering is a plus.
  • Proficiency in SAP2000/ETABS/RISA is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit is required.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards is important.
  • Excellent math and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are important.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations for diverse projects.
  • Develop and review structural drawings and specifications using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.

Job Description

AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-16. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2027.

The event kicks off on Thursday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You’ll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Entry-Level Structural Engineer to join our team in New York, New York. As a Structural Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and analyzing various structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations for diverse projects
  • Develop and review structural drawings and specifications using CAD software
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous internship or professional experience in structural engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, RISA)
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Solid understanding of structural design principles and various construction materials.
  • Knowledge of building codes and standards.
  • Excellent mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

  • This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York, NY . The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $80000 to $90000.
