Job summary

AECOM is hosting a Structural Engineering Intern hiring event in New York City, offering an exclusive, invitation-only opportunity for students to explore early career roles for Spring/Summer 2027. The event includes interviews in person and networking with staff across transportation and buildings projects.

Positions are based in New York or New Jersey with a hybrid schedule. Interns gain hands-on experience and a pathway from student to professional within AECOM’s DCS/Transportation teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aviation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field with the intent to continue after the internship unless graduating.
• Candidates must have completed two years of study in their program.
• Strong technical writing and proficiency in MS Office are preferred.

• Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
• Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

• Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
• Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York or New Jersey. The selected candidate must be available to work in New York or New Jersey on a scheduled basis.
