Job summary

Egis is seeking an entry-level structural engineer for the New England area. You will work on bridge and transportation design projects across CT, MA, VT, RI, performing design calculations and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Civil Engineering, EIT within 1 year, 0-2 years of experience, and familiarity with OpenRoads/OpenBridge and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Sponsorship is not available for this role. This is a growth opportunity with a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering (required)
• MS in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred
• EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in structural/transportation engineering
• Familiarity with OpenRoads/OpenBridge, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and structural analysis software preferred
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with in-person and remote teams

Responsibilities

• Work on complex bridge and transportation design projects in CT, MA, VT and RI
• Perform design calculations using AASHTO and AREMA codes for bridges, retaining walls, culverts, and related structures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare drawings, reports, specs, presentations, and cost estimates
• Provide construction phase support by reviewing shop drawings and submittals
• Conduct site visits to assess existing highway and railroad bridges
• Use engineering software to perform structural analysis and load ratings
