Job summary

United Concrete Products is seeking a Junior Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering team, offering hands-on experience in precast concrete design under senior engineers. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer seeking mentorship and growth, with a focus on retaining wall projects.

You will assist with design calculations, help prepare detailed drawings for approvals and shop production, and learn finite element analysis as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, entry-level.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; internships, co-ops, or academic projects are a plus.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Foundational understanding of reinforced concrete design principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to learn, take direction, and grow within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers with design calculations and analyses for precast concrete products.
• Support the preparation of detailed drawings for approval submissions and shop production.
• Review contract specifications and drawings to ensure design conformance.
• Learn and apply Finite Element Analysis where applicable.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
