Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Raleigh, NC office is seeking engineering graduates to join the Structural team in 2026. This is not a remote position and involves working onsite on diverse projects including high rises, apartments, hotels, and bridges.

You will receive on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions while contributing to design and analysis of vertical structures and preparing detailed documentation.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree by Summer 2027 (Bachelors or Masters) in Civil/Environmental or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Civil 3D.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication; strong sense of urgency and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of structures including high rises, apartments, hotels, and bridges.
  • Perform engineering tasks with on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production and client interactions.
  • Assist in design and analysis of vertical structures ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications with senior engineers and project managers.
  • Collaborate to develop innovative solutions and address technical challenges.
  • Utilize structural software to produce accurate models and support design efforts.
  • Participate in field inspections and site visits to gather data and verify structural integrity.
  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation for clients and stakeholders.
