Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the stormwater drainage system. The role involves routine inspection, cleaning, and minor repairs of stormwater infrastructure under supervision, with on-the-job training provided.

Work includes assisting in masonry, erosion control, and traffic coordination at sites; must lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather. Former public works or maintenance experience is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Experience in public works, stormwater, construction, or maintenance.
• Familiarity with erosion control practices or drainage maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Assists with inspection, cleaning, installation, and maintenance of storm drains, catch basins, culverts, ditches, swales, and ponds.
• Removes debris, sediment, vegetation, and obstructions from stormwater structures using hand tools and light equipment.
• Assists with minor repairs to stormwater infrastructure including pipes, grates, inlets, headwalls, and outfalls.
• Assists with erosion control and restoration activities such as grading, sodding, seeding, and erosion control measures.
• Assists in masonry work, such as building headwalls, retaining walls, and catch basins; pours concrete.
• Operates hand tools, power tools, and light equipment safely; responds to service requests and emergencies.
