Job summary

Cash-Wa Distributing, a Performance Food Group company, is hiring Staff Accountant I in Fargo, ND to support month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting. Ideal for recent grads or early-career accounting professionals seeking hands-on experience.

Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will work with GL, AP, AR, inventory, and purchasing, while developing analytical and technical skills for long-term growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with employees at all levels.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end analyses.
• Analyze financial data and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile processed transactions by verifying entries and comparing system reports to account balances.
• Maintain and support general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and purchasing modules.
• Organize and maintain accounting records and financial documentation in accordance with company policies.
• Assist in developing and improving accounting processes, workflows, and efficiencies.
• Support the timely and accurate distribution of financial information and reporting.
• Partner with operations and other departments to support accounting and financial objectives.
• Participate in audits, special projects, and other assignments as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
