Job summary

JARS Cannabis in Phoenix, AZ is hiring a Staff Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. This entry-level role targets graduates or candidates with 0–2 years of accounting experience who want to build their careers in accounting and finance.

You will work closely with Senior Accountants on monthly closes, reconciliations, expense tracking, and budget reporting, gaining hands-on experience in core accounting processes within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 0–2 years of accounting experience; public accounting, auditing, or internship experience is a plus.
• Foundational knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP operations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new accounting processes and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial close procedures, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Review and process credit card transactions, AMEX expenses, marketing invoices, and departmental expenses.
• Assist with tracking accrued liabilities, expense accounts, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Support the preparation and presentation of budget reports and financial analyses.
• Compile financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation for audits.
• Assist with fixed asset tracking, depreciation, and other general ledger activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with policies and internal controls.
• Collaborate with Senior Accountants on projects, reporting, and process improvements.
• Support additional accounting and finance functions as needed.
