Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Mechanical Technician – Level 4 to join our team in Redondo Beach, CA. The role supports mechanical and electromechanical designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies, and components.

Responsibilities include drafting fabrication drawings, handling delicate flight hardware with proper ESD practices, and performing space flight bonding and assembly tasks with calibrated tools.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent with 6 years related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Experience with space craft composite structures and fabrication tasks.
• Proficient with MS Office and engineering drawings.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in high bays/cleanrooms.

Responsibilities

• Assist mechanical engineers in developing mechanical and electromechanical designs, tests, fabrications, modifications, assemblies and components.
• Draft detailed drawings for fabrication.
• Fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies.
• Perform bonding operations using adhesives for thermal, electrical, and mechanical connections on space flight hardware.
