Job summary

540 is seeking an Associate Solutions Architect to support a federal health data modernization initiative. The team builds a modern data platform with scalable pipelines, APIs, and reusable data products across cloud and on-prem environments.

You’ll work with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to support solutions across Databricks, AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud, and on-prem systems. This entry-level role is ideal for new graduates or early-career professionals seeking breadth and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or related technical field required.
• 0-3 years of professional experience in relevant fields.
• Foundational understanding of software, data, cloud, systems, or architecture concepts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and domains.
• Ability to document systems, data flows, and designs clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support design of data and technology solutions spanning cloud, on-premises, and government-hosted environments.
• Translate mission needs into clear technical requirements and designs.
• Document current systems, data flows, integrations, constraints, and modernization opportunities.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, interface documentation, and decision records.
• Summarize findings, benefits, risks, and tradeoffs of technologies and approaches.
• Learn and apply established reference architectures and standards.
• Participate in technical discovery sessions and customer meetings.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers and Technical Leads to align implementation with designs.
