Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician (Level 1) for a full-time on-site role in Wharton County, TX. You will perform field maintenance and learn to follow safe work practices in the solar industry, supporting multiple solar plants under supervision.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, basic knowledge of electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and be able to obtain NFPA 70e safety certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical training a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment.
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to identify and perform effective Lock Out/Tag Out of energized parts/systems.
• Basic understanding of solar installation/plant and testing equipment.
• Must obtain NFPA 70e Safety Training certification and stay current.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety as the primary function and ensure practices are followed.
• Work safely, seek guidance for unfamiliar tasks, and follow instructions.
• Operate and care for company property, equipment, and tooling.
• Service solar equipment in multiple plants under supervision.
• Perform basic testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of solar equipment.
• Replace or repair solar parts under supervision.
• Be on-call as directed to support emergency repairs.
• Prepare accurate reports and documentation of work performed.
• Collaborate on process improvements and coordinate with EPC management.
• Contribute to SOLV Energy safety culture.
