Job summary

Amentum's US Navy Advanced Technology Development Team is seeking talented Software Engineers to design, optimize, and develop software solutions in an R&D-focused environment. The role is based primarily in Fredericksburg and Dahlgren, VA with occasional telecommuting.

You will build GUIs, implement software with C++, C#, and Java, and use GitLab and Jira/Confluence. Travel for test events may be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics with hands-on experience.
• Active Secret-level US Government Security Clearance (US citizenship required).
• Experience across all phases of the SDLC: requirements, design, coding, testing, and documentation.
• Proven ability to plan and lead software design, coding, and testing efforts.
• Experience in Agile environments and Jira/Confluence usage.
• Hands-on OO programming in C++, C#, and Java preferred.
• Willingness to commute regularly to Fredericksburg and Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop GUIs for internal tools.
• Create, implement, and enhance software using C++, RTC, GitLab, and other DevOps tools.
• Support and participate in test events, with occasional travel.
