Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking a software engineer to support military aircraft software within a hybrid Nashua, NH team.

You will design, develop, test, and maintain software across projects using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) with collaboration across Product Owners, Architects, DevOps and Security teams. The role requires a US citizen with a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, strong web tech skills (HTML5, CSS, React), and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD

  • Ability to clearly communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and customers

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a team of engineers designing, building and maintaining tested software using SAFE
  • Design, requirements, documentation, code and unit/integration test procedures
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Software Architects, DevOps, Security and UX Engineers
  • Share knowledge through wikis and documentation for the team
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and communicate status
  • Contribute to pull requests, demos, planning and retrospectives
  • Switch between projects as goals evolve
  • Ask smart questions, take risks, champion new ideas
  • Interpret data to plan work and refine methods

Job Summary

Software development in support of Jacobs projects and contracts for the US and foreign military aircraft and missions.

Work Scope may include the following duties
  • Contribute to a team of skilled engineers designing, building and maintaining thoroughly tested and stable software using Scaled Agile Framework (SAFE)
  • Perform technical tasks to include design, requirements, documentation, code and unit/integration test procedures
  • Maintain a collaborative approach with Product Owners, Software Architects, DevOps, Security and UX Engineers
  • Be willing to share knowledge through proactive creation of wikis and documentation to help the team
  • Participate in daily stand-ups providing status updates and raise any technical issues with the rest of the team
  • Contribute to pull request reviews, system demos, planning meetings and retrospectives
  • Be able to switch work on different projects as customer and program goals evolve
  • Ask smart questions, take risks, and champion new ideas
  • Use judgment and originality by interpreting data; planning the work; and refining the methods and techniques being used

Clearance Required

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US DoD Secret or Higher

Minimum Years of Experience

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related scientific engineering discipline

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with common web frameworks and technologies (HTML5. CSS, React, etc.)
  • Knowledge of, and skill in applying software engineering principles and practices
  • Ability to communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions clearly and effectively to teams and customers
  • Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions

Work Schedule/Location

Our team works on a compressed 9/80 schedule. Hybrid with at least 2 days in office at the Nashua location are required

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $90,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
