Job summary

Jacobs is looking for a qualified candidate to help develop end-to-end operational software in Nashua, New Hampshire. This position requires knowledge of aircraft mission planning and successful experience in Agile environments.

The ideal applicant will have strong communication and analytical skills, demonstrate familiarity with route planning data, and a willingness to work in a hybrid model with at least 2 days in the office.

Competitive salary of $140,000–$180,000 based on experience and skill level.

Qualifications

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US DoD Secret or higher.
  • A minimum of four years of related experience or two years with a master's degree.

We develop and deliver end‑to‑end operational software for use in the field. Today, our software is used around the world to support real‑time operations. Our teams use modern architecture for web and mobile deployments, leveraging both operational and technical subject matter expertise to harness new technologies and deliver next‑generation tools. Our responsibilities span the full‑stack spectrum including back‑end data services and front‑end development using Agile and DevOps best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Work with customers to solicit, analyze and decompose/translate requirements, user needs, and systems interfaces to support mission planning capability design and development by our Agile teams
  • Work with Product Managers, Product Owners, SMEs, architects and the customer’s representatives to plan Features, User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, and product releases
  • Validate software functionality and behavior to ensure requirements and mission needs are met, including avionics data compliance with Interface Control Documents (ICD)
  • Champion the end‑user perspective and aircraft mission needs to our teams, ensuring they are properly addressed in design and development efforts
  • Support and participate in Integration and Test (I&T) activities as products and solutions are developed. This includes supporting aircraft or test bench load testing as applicable
  • Analyze ICDs and mission data mapping
  • Prepare and present technical briefings and White Papers to customer management and staff
  • Assist in preparing proposals, project plans, estimates/quotations, RFIs, and process improvements as required
  • Investigate aeronautical and mission data issues; analyze impacts, and develop solutions and alternatives
  • Investigate software discrepancy reports, bugs and integration issues to help determine cause and timely resolution
  • Coordinate, prepare, review and maintain product‑related documentation
  • Support planning and execution of mission database load tests in lab environment and/or on‑aircraft

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of route planning related data (e.g., aircraft route data, DAFIF, ARINC‑424 or similar data specifications)
  • Knowledge of aircraft, weapons, mission planning, and military air operations
  • Familiarity with various flight management systems and/or applicable mission data
  • Analytical skills to include tasks such as decomposition of requirements, ICD and data analyses, software bug investigation, and software functional performance evaluation
  • Knowledge or experience with SysML, UML, or Software Engineering experience with UML diagramming
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to clearly convey complex technical concepts to developers and technical staff as well as non‑technical users
  • Able to employ appropriate documentation and design diagrams to ensure collaborative understanding of technical matters among stakeholders
Citizenship & Clearance

Must be a US Citizen.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US DoD Secret or higher.

Minimum Years of Experience

BS degree from an accredited school and at least four (4) years of related experience, or a MS degree from an accredited school and at least two (2) years of related experience.

Travel Requirements

Work may require occasional travel.

Work Schedule / Location

Our team works on a compressed 9/80 schedule. Hybrid with at least 2 days in office at the Nashua location are required.

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $140,000.00 to $180,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
