Job summary

Emerald Technologies is seeking an SMT Operator I for its White City, Oregon facility. The role involves setting up and operating SMT equipment, loading components, verifying parts, and performing basic quality checks on PCB assemblies.

Responsibilities include running pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens, following process sheets, and conducting routine maintenance to ensure precision and uptime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 0–1 year SMT operator experience
• Understanding of SMT equipment operation
• Ability to identify different electronic components
• Basic knowledge of printing and soldering processes
• Adherence to safety protocols and procedures
• Reading blueprints, diagrams, and processing documentation

Responsibilities

• Load machine programs, feeders, and components onto SMT machines for specific jobs
• Run the SMT equipment, including pick-and-place machines, screen printers, and reflow ovens, following instructions and process sheets
• Verify components against parts lists and load them accurately into feeders
• Monitor machine operation and make minor adjustments to component placement or other settings to ensure proper function and quality
• Perform visual inspections of components and the final PCBA for defects like misplacement or solder issues
• Conduct routine maintenance, such as cleaning machine nozzles, to ensure equipment precision and prevent downtime
• Identify and report minor machine malfunctions or production issues to supervisors or maintenance staff
