Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Entry level Engineering Technician to support our U.S. Navy projects in Chesapeake, Virginia.

You will fabricate and assemble electromechanical and electronic components, following strict safety practices to ensure mission-critical work on naval ships. You will install wiring, test circuits, and troubleshoot equipment using standard tools, while maintaining safety and quality on shipboard and shipyard facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• OSHA certification preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair wiring, fixtures, and equipment aboard ships and in shipyard facilities.
• Follow blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Install conduit to bulkheads and mount equipment using hand tools.
• Solder wires to terminals and connect power-supply circuits to radio and radar equipment.
• Test electrical characteristics with voltmeters and ohmmeters.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform maintenance or replacements as needed.
• Perform maintenance on generators, switchboards, and distribution panels.
• Carry or lift up to 50 pounds with safety considerations.
