You will assist with installation, maintenance, testing, cable routing, and reading schematics while developing practical skills for a career in maritime electrical work; candidates should have a high school diploma and be willing to obtain security clearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of marine, maritime, electrical, mechanical, industrial, construction, or other hands-on experience preferred.
• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior electricians to develop shipboard electrical skills.
• Assist with installation, modification, maintenance and repair of shipboard electrical systems and equipment.
• Learn to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules.
• Assist with wiring and termination of electrical panels, cabinets, junction boxes, and equipment.
• Route, pull, identify, secure, and terminate electrical cables per drawings and installation requirements.
• Assist with electrical testing and troubleshooting using multimeters, Meggers, and other equipment.
• Assist senior technicians with drilling, cutting, mounting, and modification of shipboard components.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and throughout work locations.
