Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies in Springfield, VA seeks a Service Desk Specialist or Level 1/2 to provide first-line IT support for Windows desktops, printers, VOIP phones, and video conferencing. You will log incidents, troubleshoot, and escalate as needed using established ticketing processes.

Salary ranges for Help Desk positions begin at ~$39k–$60k, with higher tiers as skills grow; TS/SCI clearance and DoD 8140/CSWF readiness are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in an enterprise services desk or similar IT support role.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop platforms and customer support.
• Ability to elicit details from customers to capture IT requests accurately.
• TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain CI Poly; DoD 8140/CSWF within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Gather details from customers to classify IT issues and requests.
• Use service management tools to create, update, and track tickets.
• Perform password resets, access verification, and profile troubleshooting.
• Conduct routine workstation tasks: software installs, config updates, checks.
• Document solutions to improve team knowledge and efficiency.
