Job summary

Old Wisconsin Sausage in Sheboygan, WI seeks a production worker to disassemble, clean, sanitize, reassemble, and test-run line seven scaling and feeding systems before the first shift. You will perform routine washing and material handling tasks to ensure a clean, safe production environment.

The role requires basic reading ability and simple math, with no formal experience required. Applicants should be able to stand long hours, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in cooler temperatures.

Qualifications

• Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or two-step instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash meat buckets, sticks, automatic linking systems, pallets, miscellaneous small parts daily.
• Operate garbage and cardboard compactors.
• Keep Formulation area adequately supplied with clean buckets.
• Keep Stuffing area adequately supplied with clean sticks.
• Occasionally check formulation and compactor areas to prevent accumulation of garbage and cardboard.
• Wash plastic barrels, sweep outside areas, minor welfare upkeep is all done weekly.
• Take responsibility in your work to produce a safe and quality food product.
• Reporting all food safety and quality related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the QA -department to initiate action.
