Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist at Advocate Christ Medical Center (Oak Lawn) to deliver and coordinate comprehensive respiratory care on the 3rd shift (Night). The role supports a 0.9 FTE (36 hours/week) schedule and is based at 4440 W. 95th St, Oak Lawn.

The ideal candidate will operate specialized ventilators, administer therapies, educate patients, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in respiratory therapy required.
• Respiratory Therapist Certification (CRT) required within 45 days.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• ACLS/PALS/ACCS/NRP certifications required within department timelines as specified.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive respiratory care per standards and policies.
• Operate ventilators and assist physicians with bedside procedures.
• Administer medications and therapies per orders or PDRP.
• Clean, maintain and troubleshoot equipment; identify service needs.
• Educate patients on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Collaborate with departments to manage patient care and education.
• Adhere to safety policies and contribute to a safe patient environment.
• Assess patient age-specific needs and adapt care accordingly.
