Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Roadway Engineer to join a collaborative team delivering WisDOT and local roadway projects across Wisconsin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation experience a plus.
• Knowledge of roadway geometrics, corridor modeling, intersection design, plan production, quantities, and PS&E development.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of roadway and highway improvement projects for WisDOT, including urban and rural corridors, freeway and interchange improvements, reconstruction projects, intersection improvements, and multimodal transportation facilities
• Prepare the development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E), design calculations, technical reports, quantities, and cost estimates
• Utilize Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop roadway geometry, corridor models, alignments, profiles, and construction plans
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including traffic, drainage, structures, environmental, utilities, and construction professionals
• Collaborate with WisDOT staff, municipalities, and other project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Perform and oversee quality reviews to ensure compliance with WisDOT standards, the Facilities Development Manual (FDM), and applicable federal guidelines
• Provide engineering support during construction, including design clarifications, field reviews, and resolution of project challenges
