Job summary

Family Dollar in Portland, CT is seeking a Part-time Customer Service Associate to help deliver a great shopping experience. You will assist customers, handle sales at the register, and ensure the store stays stocked and clean, while maintaining safety and professional interactions with customers and team members.

Responsibilities include receiving merchandise, unloading trucks, and supporting inventory and replenishment processes to meet productivity standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Retail or service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking/standing.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions at the assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help unload trucks; stock replenishment per productivity standards.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment with professional interactions.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
