Job summary

Family Dollar in Pittsfield, ME is hiring a part-time Customer Service Associate to help customers, ring up sales, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and welcoming. You will assist with questions, handle transactions, unload shipments, and maintain cash security while delivering friendly, professional service.

The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Experience in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store is highly preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Able to lift 30–50 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and other physical duties.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while interacting with customers, associates, and leaders
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neat presentation
• Other duties as assigned
