Goodwill Industries SELA in Zachary, LA is seeking a Retail Associate to support daily store operations in a dynamic retail environment. This entry-level, full-time role focuses on customer service, donation processing, cash handling, merchandising, and moving donations to the floor.

You will participate in all store areas—backroom, sales floor, and checkout—while following policies, ensuring a clean, organized store, and helping donors and shoppers with a friendly, professional attitude.

Qualifications

• Must interact cordially with a variety of people.
• Must market Goodwill and explain the mission to the public.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Must read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Must work a flexible schedule, including days, nights and weekends.
• Must lift up to 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Must perform repetitive hand movements for garment handling.
• Must stand, walk, bend and stretch frequently.
• Vision must be corrected to normal limits.
• Must function in a hectic work environment.
• Must have knowledge of men, women, and children clothing as well as furniture and household items.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register, receive payment, and record sales and transactions.
• Sort and hang garments and price items for sale.
• Move merchandise from back room to sales floor and keep area tidy.
• Restock floor and assist customers with information.
• Greet donors, help bring donations in, and issue receipts.
• Follow company policies and attend scheduled shifts.
