Goodwill Industries SELA in LaPlace, LA is seeking an entry-level Retail Associate to support daily operations in our store. The role includes customer service, donation intake, cashier duties, and upkeep of sales floor and backroom areas.

Expect a fast-paced environment with opportunities to learn retail operations, merchandising, and community-focused programs. Full-time position based in-store with standard retail hours.

Qualifications

• Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
• Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
• Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and among, store personnel while motivating them to their best performance.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including days, nights and weekends.
• Must have knowledge of men, women, and children clothing as well as furniture and household items.

Responsibilities

• Operate cash register, receive payment for purchases and record sales and other transactions.
• Sort and hang at least 125 garments per hour with 80% quality.
• Check, sort and price electrical equipment and small wares for display.
• Transfer merchandise from back room to sales floor and keep area clean.
• Restock floor garments and housewares and manage hanger removal.
• Greet donors, issue receipts, assist customers with information.
