AtkinsRéalis in Tallahassee, FL seeks an entry-level Resilience and Emergency Management Specialist to support disaster recovery and resilience projects. You will collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and coordinate with stakeholders to advance client objectives.

The role emphasizes strong writing and analytical skills, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and proficiency in MS Office and Power BI. An earned degree in a related field is required, with 0–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• 0–2 years of professional, internship, academic, volunteer, or project experience in emergency management, disaster recovery, hazard mitigation, grants management, planning, engineering, finance, data analysis, community engagement, or related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master's may substitute for experience.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) and familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Ability to manage documentation, track action items, prioritize deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
• Experience with tools such as Power BI, ArcGIS, Adobe Acrobat, Smartsheet, Monday.com, SharePoint, FEMA grant systems, or data visualization platforms is a plus.
• Familiarity with FEMA, HUD/CDBG-DR, disaster recovery, resilience, hazard mitigation, floodplain management, or emergency management programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, organize, analyze, and maintain data to support project delivery and client objectives.
• Support grant and program activities including applications, administration, reimbursement documentation, compliance reviews, and cost reconciliation.
• Contribute to disaster recovery, hazard mitigation, resilience, emergency management, infrastructure, and planning projects through research and coordination.
• Prepare, maintain, and manage reports, correspondence, presentations, planning documents, proposals, scopes of work, and project records.
• Coordinate meetings, stakeholder engagement, and client communications; document actions and track progress.
• Perform quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance of documentation.
• Support FEMA and HUD grant programs, hazard mitigation and emergency management planning, resilience initiatives, and data visualization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
