Job summary

AV, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Research Engineer in Adaptive Structures to design, prototype, and rigorously test deployable mechanisms for projects at Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Physics/Applied Mathematics or related field.
• PhD or MS preferred; graduate students with defense scheduled will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Design and prototype functional models from folding patterns using rapid iteration.
• Support experimental test campaigns to evaluate deployment dynamics and structural integrity.
• Work with advanced composites and additive manufacturing materials to improve packaging efficiency and strength-to-weight.
• Instrument prototypes with sensors and analyze deployment data to refine finite element models.
