Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support hiring efforts at two casino locations in Indiana. The individual will utilize various sourcing tools to attract candidates and work with local agencies to meet staffing needs. Successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside a relevant degree or experience. This role also involves onboarding and ensuring a positive candidate experience, with opportunities for professional growth and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Preferred experience with applicant tracking systems such as iCIMS.
  • Ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems in a diplomatic manner.

Responsibilities

  • Support talent acquisition for Hollywood Casino St. Louis and River City Casino & Hotel.
  • Utilize sourcing tools to expand talent pipelines.
  • Partner with local recruitment agencies to address staffing needs.
  • Escalate negotiations to leadership and maintain a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with onboarding, background checks, and HRIS data entry; ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and send talent acquisition reports and assist HR generalist duties as needed.

Responsibilities

This position will support the talent acquisition function for both Hollywood Casino St. Louis and River City Casino & Hotel.

  • Utilizes sourcing tools to their fullest potentials to expand talent pipelines for open jobs and future needs.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, social media resources, radio advertisement, text campaigns, and virtual and in‑person hiring events.
  • Meets established KPI (key performance indicators) and goals assigned by leadership.
  • Proactively partners with local recruitment agencies and programs to address key staffing needs, included but not limited to, career centers, educational institutes, and governmental agencies.
  • Makes improvements to internal recruitment efforts as needed to maximize quality hires for hourly positions.
  • Sources, screens, and interviews qualified candidates to fill existing and future hourly job openings.
  • This process includes, but is not limited, to, reviewing resumes and applications to ensure job qualifications are met, and managing interview schedules for HR and hiring managers.
  • Determines which candidates are passed to hiring managers for consideration, based on conversation and guidance from the hiring manager.
  • Schedules interview process and ensures candidate’s workflow is streamlined according to assigned timeline.
  • Creates and extends job offers on the hiring manager’s behalf. Escalates negotiations to leadership.
  • Responsible for providing a positive candidate experience for all internal and external candidates.
  • Ensures candidates receive applicable communication regarding their application.
  • Assists with onboarding process of hourly hires.
  • This includes process, but is not limited to, ensuring completion of iForms, sending to background, monitoring completion of onboarding process, and ensuring background align with Company and jurisdictional guidelines. Escalates background reviews to leadership as needed.
  • Assists with uploading and processing of new hires and rehires into HRIS system as needed.
  • Prepares and sends talent acquisition reports to team as needed.
  • Assists HR Generalist duties as needed.
  • These include, but are not limited to, team member engagement, and social media engagement for current and future team members.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
  • Responsible for ensuring the compliance with all regulatory compliance within area of responsibility and reporting potential issues to management.
Requirements
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) in Human Resources or related field; or 6 months experience in Customer Service or Human Resources related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Must have excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multi‑task and prioritize.
  • Must have technical proficiency and knowledge in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Internet Explorer, and Outlook).
  • Must have technical knowledge in building sourcing strategies using a variety of means including cold calling, leveraging competitive resources, networking, and data mining Internet tools, web sites, and social networking.
  • Preferred experience with applicant tracking systems such as iCIMS.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Ability to be proactive when working on tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
