Olsson seeks an Assistant Engineer for its Rail Track Team to assist in track and civil design, project execution, quality control, scheduling, estimating, and potential travel for projects. You will also support marketing and business development, coordinate with technical staff, and promote efficiencies in delivering quality work.

This entry-level role requires a Bachelor’s in civil engineering and EI certification, strong communication, problem-solving, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
  • Engineer Intern certificate (EI) must be possessed or obtainable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to research applicable requirements and regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project design elements for engineering projects under supervision.
  • Perform entry-level plan production and handle clearly defined tasks.
  • Develop familiarity with design/game modeling software and tools.
  • Support project schedules, technical calculations, and reporting.
  • Contribute to portions of broader projects and mentor interns if needed.
