Job summary

Wavecrest Staffing Group is seeking a Quality Control Chemist I in Athens, GA, for recent science graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on analytical testing experience in pharmaceutical quality control.

Enjoy a Monday–Friday first-shift schedule, with pay ranging from $50k to $65k depending on experience. The role involves working with wet chemistry, UV-Vis, FTIR, chromatography, and routine lab duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in chemistry or related field.
• 1–6 years of relevant laboratory experience; academic lab experience acceptable.
• Foundational knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques (titrations, dilutions, pH testing, solution prep).
• Familiarity with lab instrumentation such as UV-Vis, FTIR, HPLC, or GC.
• Ability to follow detailed testing instructions and accurately record results.

Responsibilities

• Analyze incoming materials, production samples, and finished products using established laboratory testing methods.
• Conduct routine chemical analyses, including titrations, wet chemistry testing, and instrumental testing.
• Assist with analytical equipment such as UV-Vis, FTIR, HPLC, and GC instruments as assigned.
• Prepare laboratory samples, chemical solutions, reference standards, and testing materials.
• Maintain detailed, accurate laboratory records and report results according to procedures.
• Assist with routine equipment checks, calibrations, and maintenance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a closely related scientific discipline
