Job summary

Baltimore County's Department of Public Works and Transportation, Bureau of Utilities, Pumping Division, seeks a skilled technician to maintain and repair sewerage pumping stations and related facilities. You will operate pumps, motors, and control systems, perform preventative maintenance, and support safety and housekeeping tasks.

You will use county software to prepare work orders, respond to emergencies, and assist mechanics with major repairs. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience installing and light maintaining electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• One year preferred experience with mechanical equipment in pumping stations.
• Licenses, certifications and education proof required at appointment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pumping stations and perform preventative maintenance.
• Repair and maintain pumps, motors and control systems.
• Assist with major repairs of mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Operate county vehicles and equipment including mowers.
• Prepare work orders using CountyWorks software.
• Respond to emergencies and alarms at pumping stations.
• Participate in safety training.
• Keep work areas clean and support pumping operations.
