Job summary

Suffolk Construction in Wilmer, TX is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer for its Career Start program, a two-year rotational track designed for recent graduates with 0–2 years of experience. The role provides exposure to Project Management, Estimating and Field Operations through three eight-month rotations.

You will learn hands-on processes, collaborate with senior teams, and contribute to project documentation, scheduling, and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Liberal Arts, or a related field
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Computer Literate
• Good communication skills
• Accurate with an attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Assist with creation of Change Orders and understand the processes and procedures around them
• Assist with purchasing process, from procurement through execution of the Subcontract/PO
• Assist with the back charge process
• Assist with processing of vendor and subcontractor requisitions
• Knowledge on reading and processing shop drawings and comparing them to project documents
• Gain a basic understanding of contract documents
• Assist with the owner requisition process
• Support the punch list process and work with the team to develop O&M Manuals and as-built warranty information
• Assist with the submittal, procurement, and delivery process
• Participate in project meetings
• Assist with Subcontractor pricing and development of detailed estimate
• Assist with coordination across Project Management, Estimating and Field Operations
