Job summary

JE Dunn Construction in Minneapolis is seeking a Project Engineer 1 to support construction and field execution on active projects, applying company standards, processes, and tools. This role helps manage general construction tasks, punch lists, and self-perform work to understand building delivery.

On site, you will participate in safety, QA/QC, documentation and reporting while developing Lean practices and learning from senior staff.

Qualifications

• Safety and QA/QC understanding required.
• Experience with estimating and change management is a plus.
• Familiarity with self-perform and field operations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and participate in safety and quality plans and culture.
• Participate in QA/QC planning to ensure quality for tasks.
• Learn estimating and change management processes and review subcontractor proposals.
• Work on site with project team to monitor crew size, self-perform hours, materials, quantity and equipment.
• Participate in punch lists, city inspections, safety reviews and documentation.
• Post drawings and specifications with latest information.
• Organize and participate in project meetings; disseminate documentation.
• Prepare and review project daily/weekly reports and progress metrics.
• Support scheduling with procurement logs and shop drawings follow-up.
• Provide progress updates to support scheduling and project milestones.
• Assist in close-out tasks including punch lists and as-built drawings.
• Apply Lean practices to regular activities and identify self-perform opportunities.
