Job summary

Blach Construction, based in San Jose, is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join the project team. You will help plan and coordinate required project documentation while supporting the Project Manager to meet quality, safety, schedule, and cost goals.

You will collaborate with Architects, Consultants, Subcontractors, Clients, and Inspectors to resolve issues promptly and provide excellent customer service to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office).
• Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Extreme attention to detail, highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up project documentation.
• Review drawings and specifications to learn all aspects of the project.
• Create Submittal Register from project specifications and drawings.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent to review SWPPP requirements, permitting needs, and site logistics.
• Collaborate with Project Team to prepare and distribute bid packages.
• Coordinate and prepare Agenda for Subcontractor Pre-Bid Meetings.
• Collaborate with Project Manager to create and issue Letters of Intent / Subcontract Agreements.
• Request all Insurances and Bonds from Blach’s Risk Manager.
• Create Visitor Sign-In, Safety Orientation, QR codes.
• Ensure all new Safety Orientations for all on-coming Subcontractor employees.
• Work with the Project Assistant to create files and binders to store project records.
• Coordinate with Project Assistant/Coordinator and internal Blach departments for the order and setup of project items.
• Coordinate with the Project Team to ensure fingerprinting requirements are met by Subcontractors.
• Distribute pre-lien information and project directories.
• Process Subcontractor and Blach pay applications.
• Assist in processing Change Orders and Owner Orders.
• Review RFIs against Construction.
• Lead project meetings and compile reports.
• Take meeting minutes, process, and distribute as required.
• Review and submit invoices through CMiC workflow.
• Take regular progress photos and archive electronically.
• Maintain and archive project records.
• Update as-built drawings with RFIs/ASI/IBs.
