Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an Entry Project Controls Specialist to join our Project Controls Team. This role supports planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and project performance, partnering with project managers to keep schedules on track and costs aligned with contracts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree with basic project management knowledge and familiarity with Primavera P6 or EcoSys, and a willingness to travel up to 10% to support diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of project management methodology including budget development, project planning, control and assurance methodologies, and finance and accounting concepts and practices.
• Good teamwork and collaboration skills in fast paced environments.
• Demonstrates written and verbal communication with staff and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Supports compliance with internal procedures and government regulations; updates project progress data and schedules.
• Under supervision, develops and analyzes critical path schedules for portions of routine projects.
• Generates earned value reports and drafts client/internal status communications.
• Performs basic financial analyses and documents impact of project changes on baselines.
• Manages project documentation and uses document control protocols.
