Job summary

Woodgrain is seeking an Entry-Level Production Worker in Emmett, ID, starting at $17.85-$19.00 per hour. We’re growing and offer lifetime careers in a supportive work environment.

You will monitor equipment and lumber flow, assist with light maintenance, and keep a clean, safe area while operating edger, resaw, trimmer, and other line equipment. Education: high school diploma or GED; production experience is a plus, with 1 year manufacturing preferred and sawmill experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitors equipment and lumber flow to prevent production interruptions.
• Works with maintenance for light preventative maintenance.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area with safety in mind.
• Operates Edger, Resaw, Trimmer, Sorter/Stacker, and Debarker equipment.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations and Performance Measures

What measures or metrics will the individual be measured on and what level of performance is required? Other duties may be assigned.

• Monitors equipment and lumber flow for issues that would interrupt production.
• Works with maintenance personnel to perform light preventative maintenance.
• Responsible for Operation/Maintenance and cleanliness over assigned equipment to include:
• Edger
• Resaw
• Trimmer
• Sorter/Stacker
• Stacker outfeed
• Small/Large Debarker
• Maintains a clean and organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience/Certification

• High school diploma or GED
• Production experience a plus
• 1 year of experience working in manufacturing preferred
• Sawmill experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to learn computer systems
• Must be a safety minded individual who is comfortable working in a production environment.
• Lifting and physical activity is required for this position, must be able to move boards and wood pieces.
