• Meet or exceed facility and company goals for production and quality.
• Perform heavy-duty housekeeping to keep machinery functioning properly, reduce hazards, and maintain the appearance of the plant.
• Assist in operating production equipment and fill in for other operators during breaks.
• Perform tasks such as pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.; walk, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, stand, and reach for up to 12 hours.

Job Overview

Georgia-Pacific's Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) plant in Mt Jewett, PA offers entry‑level production operator positions.

Opportunities for growth, competitive starting pay ($20.00 per hour) with the potential to advance to Operator I ($21.50 per hour) and variable bonuses.

Second shift, Monday–Friday, 8‑hour set shifts (6a–2p, 2p–10p, 10p–6a); rotation not required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Meet or exceed facility and company goals for production and quality.
• Perform heavy‑duty housekeeping to keep machinery functioning properly, reduce hazards, and maintain the appearance of the plant.
• Assist in operating production equipment and fill in for other operators during breaks or absences.
• Perform tasks such as pulling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.; walk, climb stairs or ladders, stoop, stand, and reach for up to 12 hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Six months or more of work experience.

Preferred

• Experience in a wood products manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment.
• Experience in material handling, forklift operation, production operation, machine operation, or utility.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Experience using a computer for record‑keeping and documentation functions.
