Job summary

CanFab in Corona, CA is seeking a motivated Product Design Engineer to design sheet metal HVAC accessories using AutoCAD, build BOMs, and support product documentation. The role focuses on accuracy and manufacturability, with collaboration across engineering, production, and quality teams.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in engineering or design, strong attention to detail, and an interest in HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of engineering, drafting, or product design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• AutoCAD 2D drafting experience required; 3D modeling preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor BOM management and catalog data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with ERP updates and data cleanup, including BOM structure and basic user documentation.
• Help create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for HVAC components with data accuracy.
• Support ERP data accuracy by managing BOMs, part records, descriptions, and catalog information.
• Design sheet metal HVAC accessories using AutoCAD, ensuring manufacturability and customer alignment.
• Collaborate with production, quality, sales and purchasing to ensure accurate designs and documentation.

Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Product Design Engineer to join CanFab's engineering team. This role will focus on designing sheet metal HVAC accessories using CAD, supporting product documentation, and creating accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs). The ideal candidate has 1-3 years of engineering or design experience, strong attention to detail, and an interest in HVAC systems. HVAC accessory or sheet metal design experience is a major plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with ERP system updates and data cleanup as needed, including supporting accurate product information, BOM structure, and basic user documentation.
• Help create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for various HVAC components, with special attention to the accuracy of data.
• Support ERP data accuracy by creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs), product descriptions, part records, and related product catalog information for HVAC accessory components.
• Design and develop sheet metal HVAC accessories using AutoCAD, including curbs, economizers, power exhausts, adapters, and related accessory components, while ensuring designs are manufacturable and meet customer requirements.
• Collaborate with production, quality, sales, and purchasing teams to ensure product designs, BOMs, and documentation are accurate, manufacturable, and aligned with customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1-3 years of engineering, drafting, product design, or equivalent hands‑on experience is preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD for 2D drafting is required; 3D modeling experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor, especially BOM management, part records, product catalogs, or operations entry, is preferred.
• Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to organize product information accurately.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively across departments.
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
