Job summary

ASARCO LLC is seeking an entry-level Process Control Engineer I to support reliability, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of process control and automation systems in mining and mineral processing operations.

You will work with experienced engineers to support DCS, SCADA, PLC/HMI, historian, and OT systems, develop practical knowledge of plant processes, and assist with documentation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.

Qualifications

Experience with PLC/DCS/SCADA/HMI systems and instrumentation.
Ability to assist with system modifications under change control.
Proactive analysis of control data to identify issues and improvements.

Responsibilities

Support troubleshooting of PLC, DCS, SCADA, HMI, historian, OPC, control server and instrumentation issues.
Assist with PLC/HMI configuration and programming changes under change control.
Monitor control-system health, alarms, backups and asset status.
Maintain control-system documentation, drawings and tag databases.
Assist with control-loop performance analysis and basic PID tuning.
Develop PI Vision or equivalent dashboards and reports.
Participate in testing and commissioning of new control-system equipment.
Contribute to root-cause investigations and alarm rationalization.
