Job summary

Massachusetts Trial Court's Berkshire Juvenile Court seeks a Probation Case Administrator I to perform entry-level probation data entry, run data queries in the CARI system, compile daily trial lists, and provide administrative support. The role requires assisting attorneys, law enforcement, and the public, with clerical duties across multiple court sessions.

Under supervision, you will handle mail, filing, documentation, and assist with case openings, continuances, and indigent reports.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED (or equivalent) is required.
One year of related work experience is preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

Provides customer service at front counter and handles incoming calls.
Enters and updates restraining orders.
Receives, dates, stamps, sorts, and distributes mail; processes outgoing mail.
Files, retrieves, and sorts court papers and folders according to procedures.
Updates CARI with upcoming continuance date and depositions.
Assists attorneys, litigants, and law enforcement; answers routine information requests.
Retrieves criminal records, enters initial data, and updates records and orders.
Assists with closing of cases and maintains related documents.
Opens case assignments and provides documentation to Probation Officers.
Runs indigency reports to assist probation officers in appointment of counsel.
Prepares documents for Clerk-Magistrate and Probation officer.
